About the golf

The Land of a Thousand Hills has produced the new Kigali Golf Resort & Villas, an ecologically responsible property development challenge. This masterpiece, designed by Gary Player, is an 18-hole course located in the lively centre of Rwanda’s capital city. In addition to the golf course, the 65-hectare project included a large tennis court, a health club, a pro shop, conference rooms and a clubhouse which will feature a bistro, a sports bar and a gourmet restaurant. The arrival of Kigali Golf Resort & Villas will revolutionize how golf is played in East Africa. With its modern facilities and cutting-edge technologies, this new source of Rwandan pride is the region’s only golf course designed by the famous, internationally renowned golf pro Gary Player. According to Forbes, Kigali is the fifth best place to visit in the world.

History

The course

18 holes: Par 72. Length: 6,595 metres.

The 18-hole, 6,595 metres long course is shaped a little like an amphitheatre, with elegant, panoramic views of the hills. Its special beauty lies in its plantlife and wildlife.

The course, which is accessible for amateur golfers, enjoys the advantage of challenging even the best golfers. It has large greens with strategically placed hazards, so each stroke comes with its own unique characteristics. The course’s adventurous aspect is further reinforced by its many risk-reward holes which allow for the application of a sure strategy and a more “optimistic” style of play.
